Clever KFC offer’s $20,000 in scholarships.

Normally when applying for scholarships, it can be a long a tedious process.  Filling out application forms and putting together a long essay to receive recognition and reward to help further, the costly education, of willing students.  But as social networking consumes most of our lives these days, KFC used the clever idea to offer a $20,000 scholarship for the best tweet.  Providing you are a U.S Citizen our permanent resident of the U.S and have a GPA of 2.75 or above, all you have to do is follow KFC on twitter and then tweet why you think you deserve the scholarship using the hashtag #KFCScholar. Tweets will be judged on quality and creativity.

I think this is a clever idea to see how creative a student can be when limited to only 149 characters.  With so many people using tweeter I believe this opens the scholarship competition to so many more high school students that might not have taken advantage of the opportunity if they had to go through the process of a three page essay.

Already the competition has drawn a large number of tweets and interest from the media.  The winner will be announced on Dec. 1st
