Jack J. Valenti School of Communications

December 2, 2010

Coming out of High School and growing up in an area surrounded by chemical plants (Dow and BASF to name some of the big ones) i was going in the direction of chemical engineer. Going to school taking all the required math and science courses i felt that this was something that i wasn’t excited about, so i sought out for something different.I have always had an interest in the communication field, but not sure what route i would take. So i took my time and i settled on advertising,  primarily in print and non-traditional product and fashion advertising.I searched schools in state and out of state (but i knew i didn’t want to leave the great state of Texas) and of course in my budget,  I found myself at the Jack J. Valenti School of Communications at the University of Houston and have loved every minute of it. The professors are teaching you what they have learned while they were out in the field themselves. The equipment that they have for the students is top of the line, and of course what makes the school what it really is are the students. This great school is in the process of being remodeled and is looking for additional funds so if you can help out you should.
